Eggcentricities

This beaded Victorian porcelain and rhea egg has quite a history to it. We had lost one of our club members to death and some of her things were brought in to club to help with finances for the family. This egg was a partially finished kit, but the price was right, so I bought it. The initial beads were orange and there wasn't enough to finish and I could not match them. I removed them and found the blue beads instead. There was no pattern, so did what I thought looked right. The egg was marked, but that was about it. I love this doll. The umbrella is part of a swan egg that a tiny friend of mine accidentally broke. The lace is some I had in the house and wasn't part of the kit. Next time I'll choose something just a bit finer. The underneath interior is fully lined with blue satin.
