This was a roombox kit that I ordered from the Herrschner's catalog last year. The roombox part wasn't there...just the towel bar and top shelf. My husband recut the sides and built the roombox with the extensions. The roombox itself is 12" by 8" approximately and has a lip surrounding it to hold a piece of glass. It sits by my stove, so it gets a lot of stuff floating around it, but the glass keeps it out. It lifts up so it is easy to keep clean. There is a resin chicken that goes inside the top medallion that I haven't gotten painted yet.
The room furniture and some of the Fimo clay food was created from a class at Larrianne's Small Wonders in Ventura, CA. I don't remember the teacher's name, but she was the former art director of the Carole and Barry Kaye Museum of Miniatures before they closed. We were taught how to distress furniture pieces...ie table and chairs and china hutch, tea stain the table cloth and fringe it, create the chair throw and napkins, make the Fimo nut loaf, heart cookies with special icing, tea and tea bags, and the champagne. The tea and champagne is Enviro-tex Lite. The candles, cups and saucers, and small plates were provided in the kit for this class. The other items were extras.
The knife for the nut bread is purchased as were the paper doilies that the nut bread and cookies sit on. I made the glasses and the paper roses. The candlesticks were purchased as was the spoon holder and spoons. The speckled pitcher on the table was a grab bag find at Larrianne's (she has the best grab bags). The plates were created from card stock from catalog pictures and heavily glazed with Gloss Mod Podge. The cup holder rack was in a kit with the telephone on the other side of the room. The cups on the rack were finds from one of Larrianne's grab bags. The book was purchased at the Santa Barbara Minature Show and Sale in 2001. It was an extra gift I got to pick for the extended purchases that I made. Lucky me. The chicken portrait was created from a picture.
The two top plates in the china cabinet are porcelain. The others are card stock as is the tray on the bottom of the cabinet. It was a printie that was downloaded. I do need to find out where so I can give credit. Some of the books were swap items, some bought, some made. My chicken collection are all purchased. The fruit bowl was created from a purchased stemmed bowl with fruit from a swap.
The steak dinner, baked potatoes with butter, peas and pearl onions, were all created in another class at the same place with instruction from a very good teacher by the name of Karen. This was most fun.
The grandfather clock on the other side of the room was something I've had around the house for a number of years. It seemsed to go here.
