This Gingerbread House and Bear is made entirely from Fimo clay, and Sculpey (the white), and clay candy millefiori canes. Millefiori means "thousand flowers" and the clay technique is derived from the Italian glassblowers, I'm told. The candy techniques and designs were learned from Maureen Carlson's video, "Creating With Oven Baked Clay Modeling Compounds", Volume 4, "Gingerbread House and Christmas Ornaments". Maureen is the design artist behind Wee Folk Creations. Even though I've never met her, I've learned much from Maureen just from her videos and her appearances on the Carol Duval Show on HGTV. My hands prevent me from doing a lot of clay work, but I love it when I can do it. I've made quite a few eggs from clay, or eggs that have egg pieces in them that you can see on the Front Eggart page. A smaller version of the Gingerbread House is featured in an ostrich egg, and the two wizards were brazenly attempted from one of Maureen's books. Hers was 6 inches high. Mine is just over 2 inches. I do hope you like them. The bear on this page most assuredly needs a "nose job".
