Eggcentricities

I had some surgery in February, 2003, that made it necessary for me to have a nurse for awhile. The lady that came was a small Chinese lady and she fell totally in love with my eggs. She ordered an egg for her daughter's birthday in April. The birthstone for that month is diamonds and the girl is a ballerina and loves the dance, so this rhea egg contains a hand made ballerina doll. Lucky me, the nurse has ordered another egg for the other daughter so that she doesn't play favorites. This daughter though, plays the drums. Now this is going to be interesting although I know it can be done. Stay tuned.

The design of the egg is one from Russ Hagen's Patterns of the Month. A very versatile gentleman with a ton of egging talent. Russ did this egg with a wedding couple inside.

The ballerina was an unfinished kit from LaVerne McGee of Louisiana. First time I'd seen a bare porcelain figure that I had to dress and make pretty. I didn't have a clue what to do with it, but I think she turned out rather lovely with my own touches added.
